THE CAR WONT START

My husband had to go into work this morning at five o’clock. I usually get up when he gets up and start making coffee and get my day started. He has an automatic car starter because it is cold in the mornings. This morning, he couldn’t get his car started from the house. He turned off our connecticut home SecuritY alarm and went outside to see if he could get his car cranked so that he could warm it up before he left for work. He was surprised to find out that he couldn’t even open the car door with the clicker. He manually opened the door and tried to start the car. No lights came on. There was absolutely no response from the car. The battery was completely dead. He was frantic and ran in the house announcing that he needed to take my car. I started stressing out because I had to be at work at eight in the morning. Finally, I decided that I would just drop him off at work. I won’t be doing that again. The hospital is thirty minutes from our house. I hit traffic on the way back and it took me almost fifty minutes to get home!

I was so shocked to find out that most home break-ins happen during the day. This is because most people are at work and most burglars are not looking to hurt anyone. Being a stay-at-home mom, I am home during most days. My car stays in the garage so it probably looks as if no one is home. I don't know what I would do if someone came into my home. Or worse, if someone was in my home when I came home from running an errand with the kids. I kept thinking about this and couldn't seem to shake the idea so I went to totalALARMsystems.COM and learned about having a system installed in our home. I think this will help my peace of mind and that is worth it to me. I love the idea of having immediate help if I need it. It is sort of like insurance for your home and security! My favorite part is getting to put the sign in my yard telling everyone that we have a system. I am sure that deters most burglars and I am glad about that.

I have been trying to raise money and gain sponsorship for a project that I have been working on. It is a breast cancer fund raiser that is going to be something like a fall festival. I have a lot of local business who have agreed to participate by having booths at the fair. I have also raised money from a lot of different sources ranging from Texas electricity Providers to wedding cake bakers. The whole idea is that at the fair, each booth is going to feature a pink product. The cake bakers are making pink cup cakes and the trash company is giving out pink trash bags. My favorite though, is the grooming salon that is advertising pink temporary dog dye. I just can’t wait to see my little canine with pink streaks in his hair for the month of October. I am really excited about the fundraiser and think it will be lots of fun. We have really had a great response from local businesses for this being the first event. I am just hoping that everything comes together without a hitch!

Dad's into golf

My dad couldn’t be more into golf and though I really want to get it, I just think it’s boring. I really wish I was as interested in every stroke and minutiae as he is so we could bond over it but I’d much rather watch football or basketball or even soccer, for that matter. He’s an avid player, too, so it’s pretty easy to buy him gifts on holidays which is really convenient. He always gets golf balls or gloves or even satellite from www.direc.Tv so he can watch random tournaments and he loves them all…that’s one thing about his obsession I really do like. My mother calls herself a golf widow which I think is just hilarious since she likes to do her own thing, anyway, but if you ask my dad at any given moment what he’d like to be doing he’ll tell you he wants to be out playing golf. It’s good exercise for someone his age and helps him stay social so I guess it’s fine with me!

Over at the Calgary Stampede, July 30, there will be a Slayer and Rob Zombie concert! I haven't seen either one, but they are on my list of bands I would like to see play live. Opening for them is Exodus, a San Francisco thrash metal band.

If that wasn't your thing, then how about a fun family event Inglewood Sunfest. This has something for the whole family!!! Bouncy houses for the little ones, a Car show for the Car people, lots of food and activities. If I had to chose between the two this would be the one : )

Special Project

Every now and then, we get special projects at work.

The most recent one was for ten aluminum cabinets. The instructions said they would be mounted inside a airplanes cockpit with aerospace fasteners. It didn't mention what it would be used for. A place to store the black box maybe, although I highly doubt it.

The frame of the box was made out of thick aluminum angles. the frame was assemble and held together with special fasteners. It then was TIG welded and grind. After this it was sent for inspection, if approved it would be sent back. The next part was to attach aluminum sheet metal to the outside of the frame, on five sides. The last side was for a door, that we didn't make. The five panels were also attached using special fasteners.

It's always fun to do these types of projects, although I wish I new what type of plane, they would be going on. That would even help me pick what flight I want. Just so I could tell the story.

Let's face it in today market place, being able to process credit cards is practically a necessity.

If you aren't processing credit cards I'm sure you must have witness people needing to leave your establishment

One of the best ways to relax and unwind from a long day at work or a loud exhausting day at home the the kids is so go to the spa. It doesn't matter what you are going for you will leave happy. Many spas offer massage, facials, waxing, nails and many other services.

Everywhere you look there is a Spa salon, the clean and professional upper class salons have their therapists wear salon or spa uniforms, which helps to keep the imagine of a high class place. After an hour or so you will leave refreshed and ready to make another appointment. If money is tight then you could buy spa accessories to help recreate the wonderful feeling at home.

I am not a regular at the spa but it is a great treat to get a gift certificate to go or to go with a bridal party. If you are reading this an have never been to a spa, I say splurge and spend the money its an experience that you shouldn't miss out on even if you can only afford that one visit it will be well worth it.

As many of you know I love playing guitar. Although I wish I was better then what I am. I have been playing since Jr. high off and on, which is probably the reason I'm not as good as I think I should be. How ever It's still fun and I can keep myself amused for hours singing and picking, my two guitars. Surprisingly their not Yamaha Like my Quad their Ibanez. One acoustic one electric!

One of the fun things I like to do is find piano sheet music, and transfer it over to play on the guitar. It's really helps you learn how to read and teaches you all the notes on the neck of the guitar. Plus I can amuse kids in between songs with little cartoon themes like Popeye, or Pink Panther and kid song like twinkle twinkle little star, Bingo, ect. There is a lot of free piano sheet music online.

My son really really loves music. he has a guitar, but I would like him to take piano lessons. I think It helps with learning guitar by learning how to read piano sheet music, exercises the fingers, and helps those parts of your brain develop that you use to control both hands at the same time while not looking. I still have trouble, I can only focus on one hand at a time grrr.

Getting ready for winter

It's that time, preparing for the cold season. I have been working around the house, sealing cracks in the foundation, weatherproofing windows and doors, and stacking wood. We have oil, and last year with cost on the rise, we decided to put in a wood burning stove to keep the cost down. It worked out keeping the cost down.......but I really hate stacking wood. I just don't have the time.

Maybe I convince my wife of a alternative. Pexheat.com offers radiant floor heating. My selling pitch to her will be "Nice warm toes as you walk barefoot on our hardwood floors to make some hot chocolate for our kid that's out playing in the snow." I Recently celebrated our 5th anniversary!
Which brought up the story of my wife trying to find a pair bridal shoes she liked. I guess she made many trips to the local shops, some not so local! She also had many people calling, emailing, and texting, her different places to go to. Now she only wishes, she tried Zappos.

Zappos has free shipping and a 365 day return policy. If you shop for bridal shoes online order them enough in advance so that you can try them on, and be able to return them if they don't fit. The Finger

Hey everyone,

I mentioned before that Robbie hurt his finger on Christmas. It's been awhile, so here is a update. He's had two surgeries. The first was to remove the dead parts, the surgeon had to cut some of the bone. He then had to sow his finger to the palm of his thumb. This was to build up tissue on the bone. He was put in a cast from hand to shoulder, a BRIGHT pink cast! I said no at first, but felt guilty.

The second surgery was to remove his finger from the palm, and stiche the cuts. He got another full cast hand to shoulder, this time bright green, for St. Patricks day! He got the cast removed right before his birthday party, which was at a place with lots of bouncy houses. Even though he had the cast off he still would only use one hand.

I think I mention last time, the Doctor who put his finger nail back on, wrapped it the bandaid to tight, and that caused the tip of his finger to die. The hospital investigated and said the doctor followed procedure correctly but, they blame the procedure itself. They said the novacaine produces swelling and the bandaid, didn't allow for it, causing it to cut off the circulation.

As of right now, Robbies doing pretty good, seeing a orthepedic, and we're hanging in there looking at lawyers. thanks for reading and if you are also looking for a attorney at law check out central jersey legal services.

Yes, I know, your probably wondering where I have been, or if I just gave up blogging. The answer is no, I'm still here. I have alot going on right now. I have some extra time tonight, so I will catch you up......

Remember Christmas? When Robbie had a little trip to the E.R. He is now having surgery Friday. The tip of his finger is dead. I feel terrible like some how I should of prevented it.

We finally got our downstairs rented. just in time, work has been slow, they just cut two workers our to 32. They haven't touched any of my 50hr but there's a good chance it may come down to that. I spent alot of time cleaning and painting the downstairs. I had to fix a clogged drain too, which lead me into tearing apart the coal room looking for the snake. That made another huge project, because I threw averything in the garage where I have been working out.

Two people have brought a smile to my face Madison who was asking about my Myspace blog I had that was mostly about Hector and his fictional adventures, and how she misses it. The second person is Delaney, who tagged me, and awarded me. Thank you!

I missed my Music Monday : (
Not because of this p90x, that is taken over my blog, It was because I wasn't feeling good. Part of my New Year Resolution was to cut back on the coffee, well I started getting my no cafiene head aches. Today after work I had a small cup, home made not Dunkins, and I was able to snap back.

Today was day 5 legs and back, and of course the Ab ripper x.
I have taken a before picture, I will post after I see some results. If i get any, one thing i have notice since I been working out is, I'm hungry and thirsty all the time. On the good side i have been more refreshed. What I mean is on the weekend when it was my turn to sleep in, I got up earlier then normal.

p90x (day 3)

Today I watched the video shoulders and arms, I did more then watch! it's about a hour long, today went smoother then the other two days. I think once I catch on things will start to flow much better, then I will kick it up a notch. I will admit tacken it easy, trying to lean the excercise and figure out the resitance bands. Some excercises you have to loop it to get any tension because of the lenght. Unfurtunetly they slide from under my feet. I don't where shoes during my work out because of the snowy wheather.

Yesterday I bought a Yoga pad and some resistance bands to start my training. I'm using p90x as a template, meaning I most likely will cut corners. Like their recomened diet or suplements. A better example is on day one I was soposed to keep track of how many reps I did and with what wieghts. I didn't, but I most likely will next time. It is a good idea, it will help me find out how many reps, and what bands to use.

Christmas day

Hope everyone, enjoyed their Christmas!

The start of ours was pretty good, but it had a not so great ending. I set up our video camera on our tripod hoping to catch his reaction in the morning. He was happy but wasn't esstatic. He is only two, well almost three. His favorite gift, I'd say is the trampoleane from gee gee. Gee gee is grandmother, Brandon her first grandson started it.

Dinner was great! Roast beef, the best ever, and I'm not just saying that. I will say next year I'm making sure I bring Eggnog, and some Kahlua! Who doesn't have that......

After our nap, we headed to Aunt Nancys. Where their was Eggnog and desert. Robbie was having a ball playing, with all the kids. I wanted to get out of their kind of earlie because I had to work the next day. Around 8:30 We were getting ready to go, when Robbie reached under a recliner chair to get a ball. The person in the chair didn't know and leaned forward and squished his finger. So to the E.R. we went. We wouldn't of rushed right their, but his nail was completely off.

He was a tough bugga. He stopped crying before we got to the hospital. He played in the waiting room. Had X-rays did surprisingly well. All that with crying, but unfortunately the doctor said he had to put the nail back under the skin, or their a chance the canal the nail grows out of may start to close, and the new nail would be diformed. So they novacained him. My wife and I had to hold him while he pulled the nail off, and put it back. This was hard for me to dom but I knew it had to get done.

So that was my Christmas

Last Friday, we went to get pictures with Santa. The Family went, even the dog! I got a invite from our friend Moe. Her work (which is a photography school) was doing a charity event. I know we would of, ended up going to the mall, I figured, I'd rather see the money going for a good cause. PLUS pets were welcomed!!!

Hector ofcourse stole the spotlight. First let me say, if I known that the floors were all going to be hardwood, I would of trimmed his nails. We have hardwood floors and he was fine on ours, but theirs, had bright lights, and were probabley just waxed. What happened? He decided he wasn't going to walk, so I had to carry him around. Which drew more attention then, just having a dog there.

It all worked out, and I had fun!

I have a video for you today!!! I captured it on my cell phone, I mean smartphone. It's the Samsung Instinct, just incase you were wondering. Back to the video, It's a real short clip, but before I let you see it, let me tell you about our weekend after Thanksgiving.

We went to cut down our Christmas tree, with our friends Aaron and Kathleen. We try to go with them every year, there so much fun. This year the selection was very scarce. I guess Christmas trees are a tastey treat for Deer. My favorite part of the day was Robbie saying he didn't want the tree we picked. I ask him what one he wanted, and he pointed to this huge tree, I don't even think it was a pine tree.

On the way home, my wife ask what happens if a Christmas tree falls off someones car and we hit. It be their fault I replied not knowing what she was refering to. (I like to sleep while I'm not driving) She then pointed it out.......

Finding apps for Samsung Instinct

I have been looking for some apps for my cell phone. It's a Samsung Instinct, I love it. It does lack in the app department, but that will all change, soon I hope. It just had a new firmware update, which made a few apps work on it. Their are tons of apps at getjar.com! Only problem is you have to try it, and see if it works or not. That can be a pain, I have searched through some forums to see if there is a list of apps that work. I have found a few but not a list.

What I am going to do is some reviews on some of the apps I try, and the ones I find work I will post here. If you are Instinct user please check back.

With so many different areas of legal services, you need to get one that spacializes in that area that concerns you. Wether it's divorce, civil, or union issues, make sure you are working with someone who is knowledgable in the area. It will save you money!

Hector, a hunting dog?

A few years back,I was looking for a cheap hobby, that I could bring Hector along with me. Once I tried metal detecting. I never found that rare coin that was going to make me and Hector rich. It was fun, not so much when Hector chose to walk on the other side of the tree, resulting in a tangle leash like web. I think it could of been a great hobby for us both, with a little practice. I remember, if I started digging a hole he would jump right in and start digging. I thought it was amazing.

Now comeing across a website called Coin Roll Hunt, Hector and I are back at it again! Searching for that lucky coin. I'm not a coin expert so, maybe we found it and just didn't realize it? Now that I found this well layed out site, with plenty of tips, I will be more informed, and will know what to look for. This time I'm not buying a metal detector, I'm going to start my search, around the house, places like couch cushions, junk drawers, coin rolls, on top of the dryer!

Hector riding shotgun!

Here are two pictures of Hector riding shotgun. We usually argue over who's going to drive. We play rock, paper, scissors, to decide. I always win, he is only able to do paper because of his paws. Besides I don't think he can reach the pedals. I don't want to use Repairpal because I let my dog drive.

Another helpful website from Hector! This one is for service and repairs for your automobile. The website lets you see and rate shops, have a bad experiance let everyone know, so what happened to you ,won't happen to them. It goes for good experiances too, make sure the place you like doesn't go out of business, leave comment and high rating, so other people will use them as well. You will have to register to rate a shop.

It's has been awhile, hopefully Hector still has his screaming fans!

How has he been, well he has put on some weight, "muscles" he says, and I can't argue with him. Bullies are stuborn, and people argueing with their pets, is weird. I know, I know, so is having a blog for your pet, and actually blogging for him, but you love it! So I'm really feeding your addiction, not mine......

Here he is, after return from the mall, in search of some stylish sunglasses. He's going for the Arnold Schwarzenegger look. What do you think, did he pull it off? I know many people who run in terror when he's wearing these Armour Avenger Sunglasses. I find it funny because he's so loveable, they just need to give him a chance.

Buxfer Tool for fianances

Normaly, I don't bother with keepong track with how much I make, and where it all goes. But, It's about time I start manageing my money better. I have to think about the future, not only mine, but Lil Robs too. I want to make sure that he gets to go on real vacations, Maybe Disney world, Las Vegas..........OK that one is for me : )

So I am trying out Buxfer!
I like it so far easy to use and mobile friendly, so I can check my credit card balances anytime, anywhere. This is a great way for me to not spend, all I have to do is look at what I owe LOL! Besides Buxfer, I am going to look into consolidating on to one credit card with a 0% APR. I'll let you know how that works out.

I have decided to make Monday "Music monday". I have seen bloggers such as Fracas use Friday Food Porn, and other bloggers use "Thursaday Thirteen". I believe the idea behind this, is to create a way to have to, keep your blog fresh. Please correct me, if I'm wrong. I'm still new to blogging!

Refusing to wear Safety Glasses!

Lately everyone wants too know what's going on with the union. For those who don't know, here's a little recap. About a month ago the union got voted in. Right now it's in collective bargaining. I'm not for the unoin in this particular shop. It's a small shop with 5 people, under me. I make it a total of 6. The vote was 4 to 2 : (

This post is about the company taking nessacery actions to keep the workers safe. Safety Glasses now have to be worn in the shop while working. The company bought everyone one pair, if anything happens to them they will have to replace them. One of the workers wears glasses, and isn't able to wear the pair the company provided. I asked for him too pick up a pair over the weekend, and the company would reimburse him. The following Monday he came in with nothing, saying he went to Home Depot, and they didn't have any that would work with his glasses.

I then got a pair from Graingers for him that sits over glasses. He ended up complaining about them messing up his vision. Eventually it came down to telling him he has to wear them or he can't work, so he chose to leave. The next day he came in with corner lenses that slides on the side of his glasses. These were aceptable.

The problem is the unoin thinks he should get paid for the day he left. I'm not sure why? On top of that, over this weekend his glasses got broke. Guess what pair of safety glasses he chose to wear! The ones he wouldn't wear the day he left. Why could he wear them today and not the day he walk out.

Please let me know what you think about this situation! Should he get paid? I'm I dealing immature adults?

Dirty Hands!

I'm always finding myself trying to make my own things, not sure why. Anyways after seeing some animated GIFs, I thought I would make some of my own. I began going through my photos, and came up with an idea. I call it "Dirty Hands".

I used Photoshop to make it. Maybe in the future I can make a DIY article on how I made it. Please let me know what you think of my animated GIF!!!!

Today I wanted to share a drawing I did almost four years ago! It's a picture of Hector, as pup. This was drawn before I even actually bought him. This was how I ended up passing the time, waiting for him to be old enough to leave his mom.

Liver Biopsy

Nancy had her biopsy on her liver today at Winchester hospital. She is doing well, still sore, which is expected. I will make a post when the results come in.

I was a little frustrated with Winchester Hospital, besides there terrible parking situation, the staff wasn't on the ball. When they brought her in to prep her for the surgery, they said they would let me sit with her after, until it was time. After waiting for a half hour I got up to ask if they finished prepping her they said yes that I could go in, as I started to walk down the hall, she was being rolled to surgery. (Someone dropped the ball)

It all worked out, and the surgery went fine, so I'm very thankful. My biggest concern, was if she was going to have a reaction to any of the drugs.

Moment to rember

This pass weekend was my Birthday! I recieved a great Birthday present from my son, who is only two and half. Maybe I find it, so great because I'm his dad. Either way the feeling i got was truly amazing.

During the week a kid in his class had a Birthday. So he came home with a new song to sign, the "Happy Birthday" song. It was cute hearing him sign it, because when he got to the kids name, it was emphised alot. "Happy birthday to RAAAY" to funny!

When Saturday came, and I heard him signing, I told him "it's Dadas birthday tomorrow, when you wake up you can say happy birthday Dada". I really wasn't exspecting it.

My wife, and I take turns getting up on the weekends. She woke up Saturday, so it was my turn. I heard him wake up, so I got up did the usual routine brought him down stairs, changed his diaper, put the tv on, fed him breakfast, and then began to play.

He spotted the guitar for guitar Hero III, and wanted to play. I started to set it up, and while I was on the floor trying to figure out way it wasn't working, he put his hand on my shoulder and said "happy birthday dada".

I don't have this moment on video but I did capture him signing to me in the car. Enjoy!

Skid Plates complete!

Finally I recieved the rest of my Skid plates for my Yamaha Raptor 700. I originally picked out all DG brand skid plates, I'm the type that likes to stick with one brand. Unfortunatley my parts were delayed a month out, and I didn't want chance riding with out them, so I went with AC Racing for the chasis and swing arm.

The installation was easy too!

A-arms:
Each side consisted of three bolts that tightened a clamp securing the plate to the A -arm.

Chasis:
Remove the old skid plate four bolts. Then remove the bottom two bolts that hold the bumper on. Then slide the new Skid plate between the bumper and the frame. Put the orginall bumper bolts back. I then placed the four long blots through where the orginal bolts went, sliding the spacer on to the bolts from the back. I then started threading hand threading them. Once they are all started I began tighting them down. I would sugest Loc-Tite.
The last two bolts act as clamps holding it to the frame.

Swing arm:
Remove the old skid plate, only four bolts. Atatch the new skid plate with the new four bolts into the originall holes. All done, now through on that NO FEAR sticker, and don't worry about those giant boulders waiting to destroy your ATV!

I decided I would ad some skid plates for my Raptor. I have been riding for a few years, and have noticed how much, of a beaten, the under carrige, of a ATV gets. Trails are filled with many obsticles, which may include climbing over boulders, and logs. Skid plates will help keep these obsticles from denting, and bending, your A-arms, swing arm, and frame.

Today I added Snap Shots to my blog!

I have to admit I don't know everything about it.

It has revenue sharing again not sure how it works, for now I set mine to charity. I picked Autism Speaks, because it's in the field in which my wife works.I will keep you posted on this as I learn more about it.

I do know, I like how it will display a picture of where a link will bring you. For example here is a link to my Facebook. This is a great feature I can't tell you how many times I followed a link, and then had to hit the back button.

Just added Zannel to my Facebook, Myspace, Blogspot, Flickr and Twitter. I'm not done yet either! it will work with Wordpress, Live Journel, Typepad, and many more! So what is it?

It's a way of sharing your life as it happens. you can use your cell phone, and send text, pictures, or videos, thruogh MMS, or e-mail, to your Zannels account email. You may also update it from a pc. These become like little blog entries, there is even a spot for people to leave comments.

Some things to note:

* Twitter will update the text and link to the photo or video.
* Flickr will upload the photos and videos but not the text.

Not another blog!

OK, ok, I know how many blogs am I going to make. If you really want to know, ask Mr. Owl! This particular blog is going to be my main blog. Wheather it's about Lil Rob, Hector, My ATV, or any Programs I'm trying out, it will be hear.

Don't get me wrong, I am still going to make new blogs, and post to some of my old ones. So why this one? I want my other blogs to be a niche blog, be geared to a particular subject. This way people surfing the web, for Bull Terriers, come across Hectors blog they can subscribe, and not be bothered with my other topics. The other good thing is the ads will be focused on what my readers are looking for, which can make me and my sponsors more money.
